42 people start in a growing tournament. Seven tables of six started on the Journey, vying for the top spot! One player, decided to get a little aid by strategically downing half of a 5th of Tequila. However, the sleep that ensued did not bode well for that player... he was the only player out after the first break. By the break following dinner time, only half of our original 42 are in. The antes are forced up, players are forced out, and the field keeps narrowing. Two tables of four are formed, each player fighting at a chance to make it to the final table. Each table of four eliminates a player at the same time, and the final table is formed with six people.

The 6 Finalists are John M, Frank, Robert C, Duff C, Brad, John B.

Newcomer Frank makes a good stand, but is forced out. Five people left all with some theoretical compensation. John last year's Champion, Robert, Duff, Brad, and John Worm start out in a battle of wills John Big Easy 4 Champ loses and gets 5th place. Down to 4, Robert is the chip minority and hangs on by a thread and is forced all in about five times and managed to get saved until the inevitable... his two pair gets beaten by 3 of a kind. Duff, John M, and Brad continue the fight. John M forces Duff all-in and cards are hitting in favor of John. Duff seals 3rd place.

Brad and John go down to the wire. Brad is forced all in by the Big Worm... and Big Worm hits three of a kind to beat Brad's pair. Not only does John M win the theoretical money, but he gets the prestigious title of the Big Easy Poker V Champion!
