Tournament VI — Rulebook

RULES & REGULATIONS

  • Each player starts with tournament chips valued at $200.00.

  • Dealer’s choice. (See list of approved games.)

  • Table Stakes / No Re-buys / No Limit / Freezeout with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

  • Game is played according to Hoyle’s Rules EXCEPT in case of ties where suits will be ranked in following order (From Highest to Lowest): Spades, Hearts, Diamonds and Clubs.

  • Cards speak for themselves.

  • No Check Raises.

  • Verbal action is binding.

  • If a player opts to leave before his chips are gone, he may not give his chips to another player. The chips are forfeited. A player may not ask other players for a break. A player may leave, but someone will ante from his pot each hand while he is missing. He will be dealt a hand while vacant, but it is considered a “dead” hand and he cannot play from it and must wait until a new hand is dealt. His deal is also skipped while vacant at his seat.

  • Once a player has received his chips, he cannot substitute out.

  • If a player must quit in the middle of the tournament, their chips are taken out of play.

  • Late players: $75 will be taken out of play from all players not present at the beginning of the game. At the start of the second hour, another $75 will be taken out of play from those absent. At the beginning of the third hour, the last $50 is removed, and that player cannot play in the Tournament.

  • No smoking will be allowed in the house.

  • No player or spectator may coach another player.

  • You may not ask another player what card they received or drew. (No rabbit hunting)

  • A raise must be at least the size of the original bet.

  • If a player appears to be taking an inordinate amount of time, another player at the table may request that the chairman “put a clock on” that player. Once a clock is put on a player, that player has 45 seconds in which to act. All clocking procedures shall be handled by the chairman or by a member of the tournament committee appointed by the chairman.

  • Anytime a dealer ‘misdeals’ before a bet has been made, the deal is passed. No one re-antes – and the new dealer calls the game.

  • Table mergers shall proceed at the discretion of the chairman. Attempts shall be made to balance out the number of players at a table.

  • Seats will be redrawn as indicated in the schedule.

  • When the chairman calls for removing chips of a smaller denomination, the “Chip Up” method shall be used.

  • Any dispute shall be referred to the tournament chairman for a ruling. If a player involved in the dispute disagrees with the ruling of the chairman, the player may request that the matter be “taken to committee,” in which case the BE Tournament Committee shall hear explanations and make a ruling. The decision of the committee is final and irrevocable. A committee member must abstain from voting when personally involved in a dispute. When necessary, alternate committee members shall be appointed by the chairman. A quorum of the committee will be 3 people. Saturday, June 18th 2005 (Day before Father’s Day)
